Summary
- Nothing has hinted at a new product under the Pokémon codename Kingdra.
- A previous leak suggests that Kingdra is tied to the forthcoming Nothing Ear 3 Pro.
- If true, this could signify Nothing’s inaugural Pro earbuds, competing with high-end models from brands like Samsung, Apple, Sony, and Bose.
Nothing has a history of delivering enigmatic product teasers, often utilizing Pokémon themes as clues. Following their successful launch of the Headphone 1 Pro, the company appears poised to expand its “Pro” line.
In a recent post in their community forum, Nothing showcased a teaser featuring Kingdra, a water/dragon-type Pokémon. The message mentioned, “It sleeps deep on the ocean floor to gather energy. It is known to create tornadoes upon waking.” While this statement alone provides little insight, an earlier leak may shed light on its meaning.
For clarity, there isn’t a direct correlation between Pokémon types and product types. The Ear 1 was associated with the normal-type Pokémon Aipom, while Ear 2 was linked to the water-type Azumarill. The 2024 Nothing Ear had the codename of Entei, a fire-type Pokémon. More recently, Feraligatr, another water-type, was used for the Ear 3, while the Headphone 1 drew inspiration from the electric-type Pokémon Elekid.
Although the types don’t directly indicate product categories, a notable clue suggests Kingdra may indeed hint at new developments.
Historically, Nothing has not launched a Pro variant in its Ear series, which is where Kingdra could signal a shift. This points toward the potential unveiling of the Nothing Ear 3 Pro.

In September, a Reddit user found what seemed to be a support page for the Nothing Ear 3 Pro on the company’s website. The page has since been removed, but the user managed to take a screenshot, which showed an internal code number, 25253, and the codename Kingdra.
A search through archive sites revealed an earlier version of the now-removed support page dated September 7. This page not only referenced “Nothing Ear 3 Pro,” but also contained placeholders for features, guides, and troubleshooting. Additionally, examining the page’s code revealed clear mentions of Kingdra and the internal identifier.

Fast forward to now, and the company is teasing a product by the same codename. This provides solid evidence linking Nothing’s latest announcement to the anticipated Ear 3 Pro.
Potential Launch of Pro Version in Nothing’s Ear Line

Currently, Nothing offers a variety of earbuds, yet none have ventured into the Pro category. The recently released Nothing Headphone 1 Pro and CMF models do not count.
If the speculation holds and Kingdra relates to the Ear 3 Pro, this would finally initiate Nothing’s entry into the premium earbud landscape, pitting it against high-end competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, Apple’s AirPods Pro 3, and the latest from Sony and Bose.
Consumers can anticipate features such as improved noise cancellation, better microphone quality, extended battery life, support for superior audio fidelity, and distinct drivers for bass, mid-range, and treble frequencies.
It’s important to note that all of this is conjecture. While it’s well-informed speculation, it remains speculation nonetheless. Nothing has mentioned that Kingdra will arrive shortly, so the wait for further details shouldn’t be too long.
