Amazon’s Bee Unveils Two Innovative Personal AI Gadgets, Priced from $75

Bee, a wearable tech company recently acquired by Amazon, has unveiled its first new products. On Thursday, the company launched the Bee Frontier, an upgraded wrist-mounted or pinable device, alongside the Bee Eclipse, a compact device that magnetically attaches to smartphones.
The Bee Eclipse brings Bee into tighter competition with similar AI gadgets such as the Plaud Note and Pocket but at a more accessible price. The Bee Frontier is priced at $74.99, while the Plaud Note retails for $159 (or $189 for the Pro model), and the Pocket device is available for $129.
The Bee Frontier will be offered in colors like Onyx, Lavender, and Sage, while the Bee Eclipse will come in Silver, Midnight, Honey, and Blush, retailing at $99.99.
These cutting-edge devices are designed to utilize AI to capture essential notes from daily conversations, converting them into actionable tasks, summaries, and valuable insights.
For instance, if you arrange plans with friends, the device will retain the date and time discussed and subsequently create a calendar event. The Bee can also assist with taking notes during lectures or documenting medical care plans, among other tasks.
All Bee devices provide free conversation summaries and a memory span of 14 days. For those opting for the $11.99 per month Bee Pro subscription, users will gain access to unlimited conversation summaries and integrations with Amazon services, Alexa, and various third-party tools. Pro subscribers will also receive suggested tasks, daily memory updates, a personal chat assistant, and templates for conversations.
The advanced security architecture of Bee devices ensures that raw audio from conversations isn’t stored. Instead, the audio is processed in real-time and promptly discarded. Transcripts are encrypted with keys generated and managed by the user’s device, ensuring that only the user can access those files unless they choose to share them.
Moreover, users can connect their Bee to Alexa, enabling voice recognition through your Echo device to identify when you’re speaking. This capability allows the device to record conversations for generating insights. Users can opt to delete transcripts and summaries whenever they wish.
With new integrations with Amazon services and Alexa, Bee users can place orders on Amazon or request their insights and summaries using voice commands.
Bee also seamlessly integrates with existing productivity platforms such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Outlook, enabling users to draft emails, schedule meetings, and highlight action items.
Users can also upload photos to their Bee devices or connect with Apple’s HealthKit to incorporate health information into their insights.
Both the Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse feature a single button for power control and an indicator light that activates during summary generation. The Frontier includes IP67 water resistance, a battery life of up to seven days, USB-C charging, and dual microphones equipped with advanced noise cancellation.
Every Bee device is accompanied by a newly revamped mobile app as well as a new desktop version.
The Bee Frontier is available for purchase now, with the Bee Eclipse set to follow shortly.
