Nintendo Unveils Two Exciting Direct Livestream Events Happening Next Week!

Nintendo has revealed two livestream events scheduled for next week. The first will commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda on September 8 at 10 AM ET, followed by a standard Nintendo Direct on September 9, also at 10 AM ET.
The Zelda stream will be approximately 30 minutes long and is being promoted as a tribute to the beloved series. Most of the focus is expected to be on the upcoming remake of Ocarina of Time, which was first unveiled in June and appears to be a complete overhaul of the original N64 title.
There’s a chance the company could hint at another Zelda title in development for the future. However, it’s probably too early for news on a sequel to Tears of the Kingdom. We might see an announcement for a new 2D game or perhaps something related to Mario Kart World. Additionally, a brief teaser for a Zelda movie is also a possibility.
The Nintendo Direct on September 9 holds some mystery as well. The Ocarina of Time remake is likely to be the major holiday release for Nintendo, but there are other titles coming soon. We can expect a final trailer for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, scheduled for release on September 17. Another game, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a follow-up to Wii Sports, will drop on October 22, so new gameplay footage is anticipated. Despite its name, this title will be exclusive to the Switch 2.
We might also see trailers for some multi-platform holiday titles, such as Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World and Final Fantasy Resonance. Keeping with tradition, there will likely be previews of various cozy games and similar genres.
This Direct is set to run for 45 minutes, leaving plenty of room for surprises. The Switch 2 has been available for over a year, yet there has been no word on a mainline Mario game, nor updates regarding the Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros., and Pikmin series. There’s always hope for new announcements.
Nintendo anticipates enthusiasm for these two events, with a two-hour Treehouse segment set for 10:45 AM ET on September 9. Treehouse streams usually feature gameplay from just-announced titles.
