New Accusation: Additional Woman Enters Lawsuit Claiming Grok’s Role in CSAM Generation

A woman from Wyoming has come forward, claiming her stepfather used an AI chatbot to produce thousands of fake explicit images of her.
A new legal case has emerged against xAI, as a fourth individual alleges that the Grok chatbot was utilized to generate child sexual abuse material (CSAM) using her childhood photographs. The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe 4 in court documents, stated that her stepfather exploited Grok to create “thousands of sexually explicit images” depicting her as a minor and shared them online.
The legal complaint reveals that her stepfather made over 7,000 fabricated explicit images through Grok, even transforming an image of her taken when she was just 11 years old into a sexualized portrayal. This unsettling situation escalated when law enforcement agencies raided her stepfather’s digital devices in search of CSAM. Tragically, he was discovered deceased from suicide in his vehicle two days later, as reported.
Jane Doe 4’s case adds to a growing list of complaints, as she joins three other teenagers who initially filed a lawsuit alleging that Grok was used to create sexually explicit deepfake images of them. This class-action suit, which began with the trio in Tennessee, asserts that it could encompass “at least thousands of minors” affected by similar issues.
In addition to this lawsuit, xAI and its Grok chatbot have faced scrutiny regarding CSAM generation. Earlier this year, California Attorney General Rob Bonta initiated an investigation into xAI, accusing the company of producing nonconsensual deepfake nude images of both women and children. Furthermore, the European Union launched its own investigation to evaluate whether adequate safeguards were in place to prevent the dissemination of AI-generated CSAM. We have reached out to xAI for their response regarding this latest lawsuit development and will update the report upon receiving their comments.
