For avid fans of Android, there’s little that rivals the excitement of starting a new week with fresh software updates. Last week concluded with the release of Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8, and immediately following, the week begins with the latest QPR2 build.
It has been a fortnight since we received our first look at Google’s forthcoming Q4 update with Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1, and now, Beta 2 is ready for testers.
The release notes for QPR2 Beta 2 don’t detail any particular fixes, and curiously, this version is labeled as another July release. We are in the process of downloading it to identify any potential resolutions for issues, such as the unusual Pixel date glitch.
Similar to QPR2 Beta 1, this new version has dropped support for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which will soon celebrate their fifth anniversary, marking the end of Google’s update commitment to these devices. However, if you own a Pixel 6a or a newer model and wish to partake in the testing phase, you can sign up for the Android Beta Program.
