In the latest update of the Google app (version 17.45.14.sa.arm64), we observed modifications to the customization settings for the Gemini Daily Brief. Earlier, there was a plan to display a text box for users to suggest changes to their briefings.
This text box has now been replaced by a button labeled “Customize your brief.” By clicking this button, users will have access to various options, including the ability to prioritize subjects, follow specific topics, adjust the tone, and more. There is also an option labeled “type something else.” After making a selection, the user can refine their choices before clicking a “Submit” button, which will send their request to Gemini for the next Daily Brief adjustment.
Although this new button offers a more appealing interface compared to the previous text box, it currently lacks a microphone icon for voice input, which might be a feature that Google could add before the official launch.
At the moment, this feature is not live, and it may take some time before it becomes available to users. However, Google is clearly making progress on it, and there’s a chance it might roll out sooner than expected.
⚠️ An APK teardown is useful to anticipate potential features that may be introduced based on preliminary code. However, there’s no guarantee that these anticipated features will be included in the final public version.
