Xbox Consoles See Significant Price Hike in the UK and EU

The starting price for an Xbox is now set at 499.99€/£429.99.

Recently, it became evident that the increase in Xbox console prices would be more significant in Europe than in the United States, despite prior notifications about the US price adjustments starting August 1. In June, Microsoft revealed that the prices for its Xbox consoles in the US would rise between $100 to $150, depending on the model. However, the latest updates for European consumers indicate that they will need to pay between 150 to 200 euros more, whereas in the UK, the increases range from 130 to 170 pounds for the Xbox Series S and X.

Here’s the pricing summary for the European market:

  • Xbox Series S (512GB): €499.99
  • Xbox Series S (1TB): €599.99
  • Xbox Series X Digital (no disc drive): €749.99
  • Xbox Series X: €799.99

Similarly, the updated prices for the UK are as follows:

  • Xbox Series S (512GB): £429.99
  • Xbox Series S (1TB): £519.99
  • Xbox Series X Digital (no disc drive): £619.99
  • Xbox Series X: £669.99

These price hikes translate to an entry-level Xbox costing approximately $575 for buyers in Europe. Looking forward, the situation with pricing may evolve further, as Microsoft previously warned in a June announcement that prices for storage and memory components could double again. Moreover, Microsoft isn’t alone in reacting to the rising costs related to RAM, as both Sony and Nintendo have also introduced price increases for their products recently.
