The X Money platform enables users to open a deposit account, send peer-to-peer payments, and access a debit card through the app. It supports integrations with Visa and Apple Wallet, offering both a digital card and a customizable physical metal card featuring the user’s X handle. Additional benefits include a competitive interest rate of up to 6.00% APY, cash back of 3%, no foreign transaction fees, and early direct deposit options. The interest rate varies based on the subscription tier or regular deposit habits. Certain services are excluded from cash back, and while X Payments LLC does not hold FDIC insurance, deposits are secured at Cross River Bank, which is FDIC-member insured.
X is on a mission to evolve into an “everything app,” and the launch of this payment service is just one part of that vision. However, potential users may have reservations about trusting their finances to a service run by this individual and centered around AI-driven features. Nonetheless, for those willing to take the plunge, the opportunity is now available.
