- This redesign is included in a refresh of the Google app.
Google enjoys reimagining its products, and Gemini frequently receives updates. The company has previously tested fresh animations for features like Circle to Search and Gemini Live. We’ve also seen a newly developed Gemini animation make its debut with the Pixel 11 series. If you’re eager for this new Gemini experience without stepping up to a new Pixel, you’re in luck.
A recent update to the Google app has begun to roll out, delivering this revamped Gemini design across all Android devices. This update incorporates the Neural Expressive design aesthetic into the Gemini overlay, complete with sparkling effects and small dots around the “Ask Gemini” text box.

The initial animation is just one feature of this update. After the animation concludes, the “Ask Gemini” text box displays slightly shaded edges, providing a more three-dimensional effect. This shading is more pronounced in dark mode, while it appears nearly unchanged in light mode.
It is important to highlight that this redesign forms part of an update for the Google app. To access the new animation, users can visit the Play Store and update to the most recent version of the Google app. If the update doesn’t appear immediately, consider force-stopping the app on your device.
