Elon Musk Reportedly Invests $1 Billion in Skydance Entertainment

Recent reports indicate that Elon Musk has poured roughly $1 billion into the newly established media company Skydance. This investment news surfaces shortly after Paramount wrapped up its $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery to form a unified entity.
Co-CEOs David Ellison and Ynon Kreiz are leading efforts to merge two significant streaming platforms, Paramount+ and HBO Max, alongside a collection of networks, including CBS, CNN, MTV, TBS, Comedy Central, and Food Network, all under one corporate structure.
According to the reports, Musk’s financial backing coincided with contributions from other investors in Skydance, such as board member Laurene Powell Jobs. This investment is set to provide critical funding as the company aims to reduce expenses and enhance its stock value, as highlighted in the news.
Skydance has already pledged to lower costs by $6 billion over the next three years.
Musk has previously expressed admiration for the Ellisons and maintains a close relationship with Larry Ellison, whom he invited to join Tesla’s board in 2018. The Oracle founder also invested $1 billion to assist Musk in acquiring Twitter in 2022 and previously invested in Tesla in 2018.
Skydance has yet to respond to inquiries for comments.
