Competing AI Agents Instinct and Meta’s Muse Introduce New Calling Features

The market for text-based AI assistants is rapidly expanding, with platforms like Instinct, Wajo, Town, Ollie, and Meta’s Muse agent, which was recently launched, all competing for user engagement. San Francisco-based Instinct is leading the charge, garnering significant investor attention and reportedly achieving a valuation of $10 billion.
Instinct’s appeal may soon increase, thanks to a newly introduced calling feature that allows users to make calls and function like a concierge service. Similarly, Meta’s Muse has incorporated this capability.
Noah Shinn, founder of Instinct, revealed on X that their latest feature, Instinct Concierge, can tackle tasks such as booking restaurants that don’t accept online reservations, securing spots on cancellation lists at dental offices, or resolving issues with cable bills. This feature is currently in early access for select users, with plans for a broader rollout in the future.
Meta’s Muse is also keeping pace with Instinct, having recently introduced a feature that allows it to make calls to businesses in the U.S. This capability will initially be available to users who request it when using Muse, serving as a feedback mechanism for new features.
The introduction of calling features comes as many competitors had previously highlighted their ability to make calls as a unique selling point. However, with Instinct’s new Concierge feature, the competition now finds itself on equal ground.
Additionally, last week, Instinct introduced email addresses to facilitate user account management, and it now permits assistants to interact with each other’s assistants, forming a trusted network for task management.
Both Instinct and Muse have experienced substantial growth recently. Instinct secured $350 million at a $2.5 billion valuation last month and is reportedly negotiating for $1 billion at a $10 billion valuation, reflecting strong investor interest in versatile text-based assistants.
Analytics firm Sensor Tower observed that Muse surpassed the download numbers of the Meta AI app shortly after its launch, achieving over 730,000 downloads in the U.S. compared to 707,000 for Meta AI in the same timeframe. The app even reached the second spot on the top charts at one point.
