Discover the Ultimate Playable Experience: Every Leak from the Portal Prequel F-Stop Uncovered

This unfinished version may be the only glimpse we get of the game.

While there’s little chance Valve’s discontinued prequel to the Portal franchise will ever be officially launched, players can now experience it in an unofficial capacity. Thanks to the efforts of the gaming community, F-Stop is fully playable after a significant leak.

This playable version, though still incomplete, emerged following a massive leak of over 12 TB of data from Steam in August. This massive cache included assets for F-Stop as well as information from early versions of titles such as Left 4 Dead, Portal 2, and Half-Life. Recently, the game’s source code and map data found their way onto a Discord server dedicated to Valve’s Cut Content project, where they were combined with previous leaked assets to create a nearly finished iteration of the game.

According to various playthroughs on YouTube, while the game currently lacks some textures and dialogue, its stability is impressive. Players can explore the unique camera mechanic, which allows them to take pictures of real-world objects to manipulate or relocate them within the game. This compilation of leaked materials might be the closest fans ever get to seeing an official release, especially given Valve’s silence on the matter.
