Summary

  • Pixel Watch users have reported a significant decrease in battery life.
  • This issue seems to affect multiple generations of the watch, indicating a potential software glitch rather than a hardware issue.
  • Google has confirmed the issue and is in the process of creating a solution.

While smartwatches offer numerous features, battery life often remains a challenging hurdle. The excitement of their functions fades quickly if they run out of power when needed. Recently, reports surfaced about Pixel Watch devices experiencing a dramatic reduction in battery life, dropping from the usual one to two days down to as little as 12 hours. Fortunately, a resolution is already underway.

Users ranging from those with the Pixel Watch 2 to the latest models have echoed similar experiences, with battery levels plummeting even during idle periods. Efforts to fix this by turning off the Always-on Display had little to no success.

Some users claimed they noticed improvement after performing a complete reset, but that wasn’t a consistent fix for everyone. The positive news is that Google is addressing the issue.

On platforms like Reddit, where users first discussed the battery life problem, Google has communicated with affected Pixel Watch users, assuring them that help is on the way:

We have identified a battery drain issue affecting a small group of Pixel Watch users and are working on implementing a fix as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Although a specific timeline for the fix is not available, it’s reassuring that Google has pinpointed the cause of the battery drain and is actively developing a solution.

For those impacted, it’s hopeful that the fix will be available within a short period.
