Nimble SharePower Unveiled: Dual Battery Packs at One Affordable Price

It’s probably not surprising that I’m tasked with carrying all the essential charging equipment for my family’s devices during travel. Being connected is crucial; running out of battery on your phone, tablet, or gaming device can quickly turn frustrating without a reliable way to recharge. Portable battery packs have become a necessary piece of travel gear. However, what if several people require a charge simultaneously?

While carrying multiple power banks is an option, they can add considerable weight. A more efficient solution is the SharePower, a unique battery pack that separates into two 5,000mAh units with a simple twist, allowing two devices to charge without compromising on power. Nimble has created a truly innovative product in the SharePower.

The SharePower features a sleek, rectangular plastic case crafted from 100 percent recycled materials, with a comfortable grip and a built-in carrying strap. A decorative hexagon flips to reveal a digital power indicator when activated.

Notably, when you pull apart the battery pack, it reveals two standalone cells that are magnetically connected. The carrying strap serves as a secured cable that allows for direct USB-C charging, eliminating the need for additional cords.

Inside, pressing an additional button discloses indicator lights for charge status on that side. While limited in precision, they offer a good estimate. The other side reveals a hinged USB-C connector that can securely attach to devices. Altogether, this kit offers substantial flexibility for charging multiple gadgets while remaining compact—similar in size to a deck of cards.

However, I have a couple of minor critiques; the magnetic connection could be stronger, as the parts can separate easily. Additionally, integrated cables may be prone to damage, especially when used as a carrying strap.

As a complete unit, the SharePower holds a capacity of 10,000mAh, providing up to 35 watts of total power across its three USB-C ports. Each half, when separated, provides 5,000mAh with a maximum output of 20 watts. A unique touch is the inclusion of pogo pins that allow both halves to balance their charge when reattached, ensuring equal power distribution for future use.

However, it’s important to note that the claim of 35 watts total output is applicable only when charging multiple devices simultaneously. When measuring with one device, the highest rate observed was 20 watts. This means while charging two devices simultaneously won’t drastically decrease the total power, you won’t achieve the full 35 watts when using one. Finally, due to the design, the SharePower does not feature wireless charging.

Gaining a spot on Apple.com’s accessory page often signals quality, and the Nimble SharePower lives up to that expectation. With a commendable 10,000mAh capacity, the SharePower can recharge up to three devices concurrently, removing the hassle for users with multiple gadgets needing attention. Two power indicators eliminate confusion about remaining energy reserves.

The SharePower particularly shines when you need to assist someone else with a charge. It can effortlessly detach into two operable halves, providing enough power for modern smartphones or almost a complete charge for devices like the Switch 2. This allows for individuality while using devices or sharing experiences without being tethered to a single outlet. When the day ends, simply reassemble the SharePower for compact storage and easy recharging. Despite a higher price point compared to basic power banks, the enhanced functionality makes it one of the best group-charging solutions available.
