Google App Unveils Early Look at Pixel Watch 5

Key Updates

• The upcoming Pixel Watch 5 has been spotted as a selectable device in the Google Health app.
• While its setup process is present, the app currently appears to utilize imagery from the Pixel Watch 4.
• The official launch is anticipated on August 12, with options for 41mm and 45mm sizes.

Google is gearing up to unveil its latest smartwatch soon, with recent sightings suggesting it’s making official appearances. Reports indicate that the unannounced Pixel Watch 5 has begun showing up in the Google Health app.

This information originated from a source who shared screenshots on Telegram, displaying the Pixel Watch 5 at the top of the device list within the app. Upon selection, it directs users to a specific setup screen where they can link the watch to Google Health.

However, detailed specifications or features remain scarce. Both the Pixel Watch 5 and Watch 4 appear to utilize identical imagery for the device listing and setup procedures. This suggests that Google may be using the previous model’s visuals as temporary placeholders, although the two devices are likely to have a similar design. The additional text in the screenshots resembles standard setup language and does not indicate any new features.

Scheduled for August 12, the anticipated hardware event is expected to see the launch of the Pixel Watch 5 alongside the Pixel 11 series. Previous leaks hint at sizes of 41mm and 45mm, with both Wi-Fi and LTE versions available. A listing on the Google Play Console also indicated a potential upgrade in RAM from 2GB to 3GB, while keeping the same CPU and GPU architecture as earlier Pixel Watch models.
