Onn 4K Pro (2026) Review: Is It Superior to Google’s Streaming Device?

Walmart Onn 4K Pro (2026)
When it comes to selecting a Google TV streaming device in 2026, Walmart’s Onn 4K Pro stands out as a top contender. This streaming box offers impressive speed, reliability, support for Dolby Vision and Atmos, 32GB of storage, user-friendly remote features, and a sleeker design compared to its predecessor—all at a budget-friendly price of $60, making it significantly less expensive than the Google TV Streamer.
As you start your search for a Google TV streaming device in 2026, you may instinctively gravitate toward the Google TV Streamer. While this popular choice is indeed a strong contender, my perspective has changed after trying the Onn 4K Pro.
Though the Google TV Streamer remains a solid option, I personally prefer the Onn 4K Pro (2026), and I believe you will too.
Highlights of the Onn 4K Pro

The updated design of the Onn 4K Pro is a significant step forward from its 2024 version, transforming from a plain square to an elegant oval shape that fits seamlessly under a television. Additionally, the fabric covering adds a touch of warmth to its aesthetics.
Functionality-wise, the Onn 4K Pro excels with a convenient Find My Remote button. Pressing it prompts the remote to emit sound and flash its LED lights until located, similar to a feature on the Google TV Streamer.

The back of the Onn 4K Pro includes multiple ports: a USB-C for power, HDMI output, Ethernet, and a full-size USB-A port that enhances functionality, allowing connections to various devices like webcams or game controllers.
A microphone toggle enables hands-free “Hey Google” voice commands, effectively turning the Onn 4K Pro into a mini smart speaker. The quality of responses is notably superior to what is typically expected from devices like the Google Assistant on mobile devices. However, for those who prefer privacy, disabling the microphone is straightforward.

The remote control is exceptional, featuring numerous buttons yet maintaining an uncluttered design. Customizable options and shortcuts for popular streaming services simplify navigation. Additionally, a dedicated button for profile switching enhances usability for multiple users. The inclusion of backlit buttons at this price point is an added bonus.
In terms of performance, the Onn 4K Pro has exceeded expectations during my month of use, delivering seamless operation. The Google TV interface remains highly responsive, all streaming applications function flawlessly, and 4K Dolby Vision visuals are impressive.
A month into my experience, the Onn 4K Pro continues to perform like a champion.
This streaming box has proven its reliability, sustaining daily usage without any performance dips, and even the 32GB of storage allows for flexibility with additional app installations. A recent count showed that I still have ample storage available after installing multiple applications.
Minor Drawbacks

Though the Onn 4K Pro impresses with its $60 price tag, it does come with a few compromises. The Ethernet port, while available, is limited to 100Mbps, which could disappoint those seeking faster wired connections.
More RAM would have been an ideal feature.
Having only 3GB of RAM raises some concerns. Although the box performs excellently, an additional gigabyte could provide reassurance for future-proofing. Yet, given current market conditions, increasing RAM could unnecessarily inflate the price.
It’s worth noting that despite the advancements in the 2026 model, it doesn’t mark a significant upgrade over the previous version, sharing similar specs. While the new version may offer improved speed, the differences are not substantial.

The limitations regarding Ethernet speed and RAM are minor concerns when considering the outstanding value of the Onn 4K Pro (2026). Despite more affordable streaming options being available, this device feels premium without the premium price tag, representing an incredible deal.
For those deliberating between the Onn 4K Pro (2026) and the Google TV Streamer, keep in mind the latter’s higher price point of $99.99. It may have a more efficient chipset and faster Ethernet, alongside potentially quicker software updates. However, these features may not justify the increased cost if the capabilities of the Onn 4K Pro meet your needs.

Ultimately, while the Google TV Streamer has its advantages, if you’re not heavily invested in needing faster hardware, consider the Onn 4K Pro more than a viable alternative. This model has carved out a space for itself as a preferred choice for many users, and it’s likely to remain in my setup for the foreseeable future.
