China’s Primary Intelligence Agency Allegedly Enlisted the Mole Behind the NVIDIA CEO Targeting

U.S. authorities suspect a romantic relationship between Jensen Huang and the alleged spy, Alice Huang.
The latest report sheds light on China’s intelligence tactics aimed at NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. In a recent article, it was disclosed that Alice Huang, a leader at the data center company Megaspeed in Singapore, was allegedly utilized by China to collect intelligence on Huang. Further investigations indicated that China’s Ministry of State Security actively recruited Alice to gain insights into U.S. artificial intelligence strategies.
Reports suggest that her role involved attempting to persuade Jensen Huang to lobby the U.S. government for permission to export advanced chips to China. As the head of a leading AI chip manufacturer, Huang possesses significant influence and played a role in previous decisions allowing certain chip sales to China.
Additionally, U.S. officials indicated that there might have been a romantic involvement between Jensen Huang and Alice, a finding that emerged from intelligence sources. Important figures, including former President Trump, were briefed about this relationship prior to a trip to Beijing involving Huang and Elon Musk. It appears that no further action was taken regarding these findings, and Huang remained unaware of being a target of Chinese intelligence operations.
Megaspeed has been a major customer for NVIDIA, acquiring billions in AI chips for its Southeast Asian data centers, which are then leased to Alibaba, thus providing the Chinese firm access to advanced NVIDIA technology that is otherwise restricted. Although some sources mention a potential scheme for smuggling these chips into China, NVIDIA’s internal investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing.
