Elon Musk’s Boring Company Seeks Investment, Eyeing a $20 Billion Valuation

Elon Musk’s tunneling venture, The Boring Company, is reportedly seeking to secure $4 billion in funding, with a projected valuation of $20 billion, as noted by a financial publication.

The negotiations are still ongoing, and the final terms may vary. Should the valuation reach $20 billion, it would represent a substantial rise from The Boring Company’s valuation of $5.7 billion in 2022.

The company has successfully constructed a tunnel network in Las Vegas, facilitating transportation for customers via Teslas between various stations. However, there have been reports of serious injuries among tunnel workers, and Nevada regulators indicated that the company had breached environmental regulations nearly 800 times last year.

Plans for additional tunnel systems have been announced in cities like Nashville and Dubai. Furthermore, the company has proposed projects in Baltimore, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

Originating from SpaceX in 2018, The Boring Company has witnessed mixed fortunes, especially as SpaceX recently experienced its largest IPO ever, although its stock prices have since seen a significant decline.
